The Facts

Autism Therapy

Autism

1 in 36 children in the United States are on the autism spectrum. Autism is a highly heterogeneous disorder; people with autism can present very differently. Some common signs are challenges with social skills, speech impairments, or sensory and motor difficulties. Jigsaw puzzles can help children with autism with cognitive development, fine motor skills, visual stimulation, and a creative outlet.

Cognitive Aging

22% of the United States population is over 65 years old. Cognitive impairment rises with age; 3% of those aged 65-69 have dementia, while the number is 35% for those over 90. Some ways to prevent dementia are by maintaining a healthy lifestyle and connecting with friends and family. Solving jigsaw puzzles can also reduce the risk of developing dementia, as well as providing a relaxing hobby, increasing concentration, and improving fine motor skills and attention to detail.
