On Saturday, August 15th, we visited Brightview Senior Living to chat with the seniors and play Jeopardy with them. It was wonderful to hear everyone's stories and learn from their wisdom, and Jeopardy was a blast!

On Sunday, August 9th, we had a blast at Brightview Senior Living! We started with two-team trivia on Eagle Scouts, Oscar winners, and miscellaneous celebrities. When we played a round of '60s culture trivia, it was great to hear everyone reminiscing about The Beatles, Elvis, and Woodstock. We then moved on to flower arrangements and jigsaw puzzles, engaging our artsy sides.

On Saturday, June 13th, we visited two of our autism center partners: Pediatric Therapy Studio and Autism Reimagined Center! At Pediatric Therapy Studio, we were joined by the Aylus Fairfax Branch, who helped us out greatly! We played catch, Snakes and Ladders, counting and addition with magnetic blocks, and more. At Autism Reimagined Center, we played on the trampoline, had basketball contests, and explored the sensory room with tons of colorful and fidgetable toys.

On Saturday, June 6th, we hosted a tent at the FCPS Summer Extravaganza! We manned two tables: at one, we introduced our organization and gave out free swag. At the other table, we had the opportunity for kids to decorate their own puzzles and bring them home! There were so many exciting parts of the event: we met countless people, explored the tents of various other organizations, and petted the donkey and sheep in the petting zoo. We cooled off from the heat with flavored ice and collected freebies such as stress balls and balloon swords. We're glad to have used the event to spread the word of our organization and learn more about the needs of the community! Notably, we met FCPS Superintendent Dr. Reid and communicated our mission with her! We also met again with Ms. Amal Elsayed, who initially introduced us to the opportunity last year. Thank you to everyone to made the event possible!

On Tuesday, May 5th, we collected additional puzzle donations from the Kids First Club of Lake Braddock Secondary School! In addition to collecting puzzles in their club-based puzzle drive, they collected monetary donations, which they then used to buy wonderful 100-piece puzzles that are perfect for young kids! We'd also love to take this moment to shout out several lovely donors who have independently reached out to us in the past few months to donate puzzles and games - thank you so much to Elizabeth, Susan, and Amy for your generosity!

On Saturday, April 25th, we attended the Thomas Jefferson High School Assistive Technology Club's ATConnect event, where we headed a booth and spread the word of our organization! We met tons of people, witnessed inspiring assistive technology projects, and learned about organizations in our community that use technology to improve accessibility. We are thankful for the opportunity to deepen our connection with the community and support local families!

On Sunday, April 19th, we volunteered at the Autism Speaks Empower Walk and 5K Run in Washington, DC! This was our biggest event yet, with over 25 volunteers - POI was the largest volunteering group there! Our members worked to check in other volunteers, usher runners to the right spot, cheer runners on, and help things run smoothly at the refreshments tent and sponsor fair. Four of our members ran in the 5K, and one even placed in her age group! Thank you to everyone who braved the weather and early morning to help out at the event!

On Saturday, April 18th, we attended the FCPS Special Education Family Conference as part of their Student Showcase, where we manned a table and introduced our organization! We met tons of interesting people and reunited with Ms. Amal Elsayed from the FCPS Family Resource Center, who has been our supporter from the start. Thank you so much to everyone who allowed us to present and everyone who came to our table!

On Wednesday, April 15th, we met with the Kids First Club of Lake Braddock Secondary School, who hosted their own puzzle drive over the past months and generously donated their collections for us to distribute! They collected puzzles, legos, and even monetary donations - thank you to the organizers and donors!

On Saturday, April 11th, we brought cupcakes to Pediatric Therapy Studio and Autism Reimagined Center in honor of Autism Acceptance Month! Our volunteers baked and decorated the homemade cupcakes, and we hope the kids enjoyed them!

On Monday, April 6th, we donated three boxes of puzzles to Justice High School for the Special Education students to enjoy! Their principal and administrative assistant were wonderful, and we're glad to have helped!

On Friday, April 3rd, we visited Expectations Reimagined, an autism center in Severna Park! This was our first center in Maryland, and we're excited for this new chapter of our journey. The founder, Ms. Tricia, gave us a wonderful tour of the beautiful facilities.

On Sunday, March 22nd, we visited Brightview Senior Living in Great Falls! We had a great time coloring with the seniors and had wonderful chats about topics ranging from teaching to sewing to prom. A few of our members created beautiful designs on miniature puzzles and gifted them to a senior. The volunteering was a wonderful chance to get to know each other more deeply and foster closer connections.

On Saturday, February 21st, we visited two autism centers! We first visited Pediatric Therapy Studio, where we had a great time playing with their bounce house, swings, and more. We then headed to Autism Reimagined Center, where we were given a tour of their new and improved layout and enjoyed spending time with the kids! Special thanks to Special Needs Assistance, who brought beautiful cards for us to distribute to the kids.

From mid-January to the end of January, we collaborated with Longfellow Middle School to host another school-based puzzle drive! We were able to collect around 100 puzzles, games, and toys. Thank you so much to the staff and students of Longfellow for contributing to the cause!

On Saturday, January 24th, we donated puzzles to TIBS For Kids in Woodbridge! We were so pleased to get a tour of the place and learn more about their services.

On Tuesday, January 20th, we visited Weyanoke Elementary School, a local Title I school, and donated two heaping boxes of puzzles for their students to enjoy!

On Sunday, January 18th, we visited Brightview Senior Living in Great Falls to make no-sew blankets with the seniors. The blankets will then be donated to the local animal shelter, providing the animals with warmth and comfort. Once we finished the blankets, we moved on to playing bingo and making jigsaw puzzles!
